The Awakened Millionaire – Real Talk with Karl O’Hare

I spoke with Perth based Awakened Millionaire, Karl O’Hare, to listen to his perspective on the current Corona Virus environment.

Karl candidly shared how it was impacting him both personally and in business. He talked through just how he was adjusting focus and expectation in his own business to meet the new reality.

Karl finished with an invitation, and open offer of support, to everyone to fully capitalise on this very rare opportunity to discover and pursue something very new in your life that makes your soul sing – whether it’s playing guitar or offering a service to the world that is very much in need.

I would strongly recommend reaching out to Karl at bit.ly/ConnectwithKarl

Hello and welcome back to WA Real. I’m your host Bryn Edwards. Today we’re having another catch up in this coronavirus world with one of my previous guests to find out how they are dealing with this new environment, how they’re pivoting, dealing with it, what tips and tricks they can share. And today I have the great pleasure of having back the awakened millionaire Karl O’Hare.

Karl, welcome back to the show.

Karl O’Hare

Hey, Bryn, thanks for having me back.

Bryn

Cool. So, first question out of the box. How are you dealing with this disruptive environment?

Karl O’Hare

It’s been crazy. It’s been

Karl O’Hare

I think it’s actually only hit me I think later than most because I’ve been just pretty busy kind of nose to the grindstone putting together a new thing for the business. And not only really ended, kind of take the week before last. So I just been working work work and hadn’t really I think even allow myself to really Really actually let it sink in what’s happening around the world it just hadn’t. I remember just a tool area, whatever like that just have a little thing, look it up maybe at the sky and it just kind of hit me. Wow, the whole world. You know, it’s happening to the whole world. And obviously, all the people dying and you’re serious, hey. And then every day, obviously everyone, everyone knows I don’t need to tell everyone. Everyone knows that one day he can’t go in groups of 500. Then the next day, he can’t be in groups with more than two. You know, I think that’s, you know, and in many countries people just can’t leave their house. They’ve been beaten with sticks if they if they leave the house. And so for me, yeah, I’m aware of it now. I think it came to hit me a bit late a bit later. But now being stuck at home. I work from home most days anyway. But being kind of forced to be in the home as well. I’ve got a

Karl O’Hare

early stage pregnant wife, Susan.

Karl O’Hare

And she’s you know she obviously she’s been told that she’s high risk so we’re really trying just to contain everything in our house and be safe and healthy three kids

Karl O’Hare

it’s funny to watch Susie homeschool them

Karl O’Hare

so yeah all of that together in a melting pot in a in a in a time when everyone just just feels different I think even without even thinking about it too much it feels different doesn’t it? I think it’s like I’ve been saying to Susie that today even half an hour before this this chat. Should you Okay, yeah, I’d have a great day and but I’ve got this really weird feeling in my chest. It kind of jittery kind of unsettled feeling. Which I’m not used to. And it’s not because I don’t feel stressed. I’ve got no I don’t feel like I have any stress in my life. You know, an appeal not too busy. I control my own time. So what is it you know? So I think it’s, I think it’s physically the change is how it’s coming out of me and the feelings.

Bryn

Yeah. Yeah. And that’s, that’s really interesting because it, it has happened just like that, hasn’t it? Really, I mean, if you’re going back four or five, six weeks ago and said, someone’s gonna be locked down in the house, you’re not gonna be in groups of more than two or this suddenly that you would have said to me bring crack or something like that, or that would never happen. But it just seems to do and you know, we are in a changing environment. It’s almost as if we’ve been picked up out of one landscape and dropped into another one. It looks like the other one, but it’s so very, very different. And we’re all just having to react and and it’s going to come out in lots of different ways.

Karl O’Hare

It’s like, up until

Karl O’Hare

the last couple of weeks I’ve been watching the news reports

Karl O’Hare

and another big movie buff, right? I’ve got like 800 movies on my iTunes apple. It tunes box, right? I used to buy a movie every night on Apple iTunes and I love movies, big part of my life. And so I’ve watched all the zombie movies, all of them, right? And the news reports on the news were exactly like the start of every zombie movie you’ve ever I’ve ever watched. Exactly, you know, there’s a new virus, and then it goes to something else. And then it comes back a couple days later on persons got sick in this country, you know, and we’re not sure what it is, is that as a scientist talking about something and then it goes away, like,

Karl O’Hare

you know, everyone’s eating each other’s faces off.

Karl O’Hare

So also watch it going. Hang on a minute, this is literally playing out like every single

Karl O’Hare

apocalyptic

Karl O’Hare

zombie movie I’ve ever seen, like almost to the tee than usual for to almost almost saying exactly the same words. And then we’re on global lockdown and the whole worlds arguing over them. We know whether it’s real or if it’s not real, and some huge a conspiracy you know to take down all this all this stuff and then other people saying that the economic environment is going to end the money isn’t going to be a thing anymore very soon. So you’ve got everything from you know aliens to conspiracy theories to Is it a real virus or all go around subconsciously being taught all there in the melting pot of our kids you know our kids are absorbing all of this

Bryn

it’s crazy huh? And and it just plays with every single part of our identity and what we know is normal.

Bryn

Yeah,

Karl O’Hare

yeah, it just it just you can feel it’s different you know, I’m used to about I’m a definitely a creature of routine or we enjoy my my routine. It’s one of the things that I learned in recent years is that you know, routine to me a certain amount of routine brings happiness. And then suddenly that changes and you’re told you can’t do the things you love. You can’t do the things you like, you can’t see those people even if you’re seeing those same people even just for five minutes every day and saying hello. You know Most on how important that is to your overall happiness throughout the day and when that’s all ripped away. And you’re told that you have to live a different life and you’ve got no choice. Yeah. Yeah, that’s when it starts to, I think it starts to make you maybe that’s one of the squirmy feeling that I’m getting on the inside is that I’m being you know, I’m having to live a life now. That isn’t my Treece.

Bryn

Yes. Yes. Hmm. And, and being accepting of that very quickly. I mean, I, you know, through all my podcasts normally, as you know, we’re all done in person and I’ve really value that in person, human human interaction, and I’m feeling undernourished without it at the moment. In fact, you know, it was even to the point the other day a great compliment to friends of mine made they sort of saw me from across this, you know, come from across the park, and they were with their kids and they had two ladies and they both look disappointed and all sorts of what’s up with you turn their life. You give the best hugs Bryn, and we Can’t have a hug?

Karl O’Hare

Yeah.

Karl O’Hare

It’s amazing how much of that you take for granted, isn’t it? And how much that for you emotionally?

Karl O’Hare

You know, you may you and I should say, I’ve both been to the, you know, the human excellence project swims that, you know, I go to most mornings you’ve been a lot and you get hooked by 3040 people suddenly that stops and you know, you don’t see friends you don’t see friends which have become an important part of starting your day. And then you take that extrapolate that out and you know, my mother in law was just over she used it she used to be head of midwifery for for the NHS, maybe in London years ago. And so she’s still connected in the whole nursing world and everything and sadly, she’s saying that suicide is has spiked around the world because, you know, nurses are totally committed suicide because they’ve seen this you know, and, and people who are already on the edge, I think This has just gone on while I might as well check out. And so you take that lack of human contact, and you take that lack of normality and a little bit of law and human connection that people have that maybe they’re holding on to remove it.

Bryn

And, and the second and third consequences and forever consequences the ripple effect of that just go much wider. Hmm. It really is shaking things up. And if we go back to you at the awakened millionaire and and you’re offering to the world, how has it affected you and it forces you to pivot?

Karl O’Hare

Yeah. And it has. I’ll give you a perfect example. So I was to start a hover to kind of 12 month mentoring programmes, eight weeks of intense mentoring, and kind of twice a week on zoom, and after that, the 12 months of support, so it’s a really, you know, long journey. And in return for that, you know, I tried to fare like a money

Karl O’Hare

in return to the investment of effort and time

Karl O’Hare

that is exchanged over that period, and had a few people who were booked into start this week on that longer journey. And yeah, I messaged him saying how are we good to go? These are people who only a few weeks back, were saying, I can’t wait to get going, Oh my God, this amazing journeys all the way to this new thing online, it’s gonna change my life. And sadly, I don’t blame him at all. But they’ve contacted me and said, Call, I’ve just lost my job. You know, I’m not sure I’m going to have a job in two or three months time. I’ve got kids bills to pay. And right now I need to hold on to every penny that I have to my family. And

I don’t blame him.

Karl O’Hare

I do not blame him. You know, not at all. And I’m fully supportive of them. And, and that’s I think that’s what I’ve noticed is that big change is, you know, people just going into panic. detection, mode,

contracting,

Karl O’Hare

contracting, and, you know, protecting and unhygenic holding on, let’s hold on to what we’ve got. And not necessarily from a financial standpoint, you know, people are worried about their lives at the moment. People are worried about their grandparents, we have parents in law over at the moment and haven’t been able to go back to England, because of what’s happened, that flight was cancelled. You know, my father in law 75. And so, you know, he’s been told us to go home and being quarantined for three months when he lands in England next week. You know, and you think of how many other grandparents you know, granddad’s and puppers and grandmas are in that situation. So suddenly, you know,

Karl O’Hare

your priorities, people’s priorities are

Karl O’Hare

just changed straightaway that they’ve changed from How can I invest a bit of money to you know, start a new business or take my life in a different direction to Oh, my God, is my dad gonna be around next month, you know, so It is a huge shift. So, you know, I’m not I’m not I never push anyone into into anything. You know, when I got back into this I started doing the courses, I make sure that it that the person almost has to come come to me and say, Oh no, I really want to do this. It’s really right for me, you know, because there’s no point going on a journey with someone that’s so it’s such a close relationship over that amount of time. So important people. If people aren’t ready, and there’s no point pushing us, I would never do that, especially situations now where people just have no idea what to do or where to go. But on the flip side of that, and a lovely guy won’t give you his name, but he was one of the guys that was in in in wanted to realise that this is a course and a programme that was going to change his life, right? And he just was 100% No, I want to keep going and he saw it from a completely different standpoint, but he didn’t have kids. And he wasn’t he hasn’t lost his job. And and he looked at it from a point of well

Hang on a minute, everyone’s locked

Karl O’Hare

into houses at the moment, I’m going to be locked down for a few months as it is anyway. This is the perfect opportunity for me to learn new skills start a new business and his business is an online course helping people I would say what it is, until it launched yet, but it’s a cool, amazing online course. It’s going to help lots of people. And he’s seen it from the complete other side of the coin. So he’s gone. This is the best time ever for me to invest money and change my life and do that one thing that I’ve always wanted to do, you know, but I don’t. Again, you know, I can’t use the other person for changing their mind and not thinking like that. So that’s the biggest shift that I’ve seen is I’ve had people just just just view view the opportunity differently based on the coronavirus and the threat to their family or their life situation.

Karl O’Hare

And on the flip side, coincidentally,

Karl O’Hare

in the last month, I was working on an online product, product, business in a box, which basically you’ve just finished it I think which, which basically helps anyone to take an idea in their head or a business and completely automated all online, making money and generating calls for your business in two days. It’s all of mine. And I did the course in person and then made the online course and it literally just launched as everyone went into lockdown on the in their houses. So whilst wonder for me that the Bigger Longer term mentoring thing seems to be tough shrinked the other opportunity, which is the kind of cheaper, more quicker, get yourself online, start selling straightaway. And you know, out the box type course, will be the one that’s going to fly because, you know, there’s so many people at the moment, who have, you know, two days or two weeks or two months to sit and start that new thing at a relatively low cost. So I’m hoping that that completely online offering is going to be able to help those people That do want to

Bryn

do that. Hmm. And it’s, I think it’s really, I think it’s really cool because there’s going to be a lot of people who, for one reason or another are forced to reflect on where they are and where they want to go in life, whether it’s because they had a job, which, you know, a lot of people would have thought, it’s stable, the money’s flowing, it’s cool, and then all of a sudden, dried up, you know, whether it’s, you know, steady job in a good restaurant, travel agent, stuff like that, you know, you think that’s going to continue, but bang, all of a sudden, it stopped. Or you’ve all of a sudden, you’ve, you know, you’ve had the job, the corporate job, where you’re going into the environment, you’re going into the office, you’re going into the conference room, you’re doing that day in, day out, you know, and you’ve been in that situation, I’ve been in that situation and you get stuck in that rut, and now all of a sudden, you still got the job, but that’s been taken away from you. And all of this can create quite an existential sort of crisis to start. When you come out the back then it’s like oh, this is such a gift I’ve got you know this disruption is such a gift in the fact that is my wake up call I’ve got time and space to do something different and you know the internet is still there the opportunity to reach billions of people is still there. And you know with this time and space you know, you’re not going out you’re not wasting money down the pub down the restaurant all these you know down the disco, you’re not doing any of those because they’re all shut and you can’t spend your money on it. So it’s like well, you’re going to do and you know, you’ve really got two choices The way I see it, you can you know, you can sit in your ass and watch Netflix for the next three months and come out 10 Stone heavier and you know, that’s an option and and you know, no judgement if that’s what you want to do. Or you can go right you know, let’s let’s do something cool and creative and productive and see what happens out the back of this. And and you know, like courses like yours how to step people along. way of taking that idea and turn it into something that you can actually go out and sell whether that and thinking about it, because whether it’s whether that’s for selling right now, in the midst of this, or whether you are developing something for when we come out of it, and yeah, you’ve got this great opportunity and I think, you know, the opportunity to tap into people like yourself and and with the business in the box course is is really cool.

Karl O’Hare

And on top of that, I mean, that’s, that’s I just did. Just yesterday, I was sitting here in my own home because I’m kind of like a prisoner of my own home as well like everyone else’s. And I thought I saw everyone else doing like, you know, I just let me help you just let me help you. I’m going to give you free workouts at home. I’m going to do this I’m going to do that free cooking lessons or whatever I thought, well, what if I got like, you know, I’ve got time in my day, right? So what can I do so decided every Monday morning at 10am As alive, on my awaken millionaire page, I’m gonna go live for an hour. And I’m just gonna help people. So you know, anyone that’s sitting at home that just just wants to talk or learn, I’ve got an idea for this, how can I make it happen? Well, I’ll just tell you, and I’ll just tell you why you can do it and exactly how to do it and show you so I’m going to be doing demos. So you know, you want to start a website, great. I’ll show you how to do that. You want to take money off someone for something, I’ll show you how to do that. Let’s start a membership site. You want to broadcast your message and do a speech online. I’ll show you how to do that. You know, you want to interview someone like this cool. Ask the question I’ll show you. And I thought I can do that for free and it’s fun. Like You I love doing this stuff. You know, most of it. That’s why I do what I do. That’s what you do what you do. So I was able to help them. You know, someone this morning didn’t go as well as I planned that pick the wrong bit of technology and it didn’t really work. But I’m learning to learn for next week. You know, it’s free, it’s fun. So that’s come out of that come out of this as well. You know, I’m just being able to give more and enjoy You’re giving my knowledge and my skill and my experience to others just for that hour each Monday. And it made me laugh because generally the idea came from right from the Terminator movie now the Terminator movie when john Connors on his radio and it whole worlds are locked down. It’s all like apocalyptic. And he goes, Oh, this is john Connor. I’m going to be on the radio every Thursday at 10am

Karl O’Hare

give them the same message. Oh, I’ll just I’ll just do that. You know?

Karl O’Hare

And watch, they can listen and watch if it helps them great. If not, gives me something to do for an hour every Monday morning.

Bryn

Fun Time. Fantastic, isn’t it the amount of giving that that is going on through the internet, you know, and just the kindness and the giving that is going on. It just was it was such a rarity. You know, four, six weeks ago now it’s becoming more and more commonplace. More and more people are stepping up and standing up and go. I’ll help out. pitching. I’ll do something. It’s really impressive,

huh? And you should,

Karl O’Hare

you should because we can. And you never know like I one of the big lesson that I’ve learned, and I confidently say to people now you know, people when they start off and do anything with them forget money just trying to share who what they what they’ve got inside that what led out to the world, they always sometimes start and think, Well, you know, who’s gonna listen to me? And how am I going to get 1000 followers or 10,000 followers or a million followers? And they think they think like, I don’t know, they’re trying to compare themselves with people who are already there. And I’m just saying, like, Look, I know when I go on and do a live on next Monday. If there’s just one person in the world, who I help just one other human being out there somewhere in the world that says thank you card, because you really helped me in that one big thing or that one small thing, I could help someone for a second, or I can totally change their life forever. And so you know, anyone that has anything to share, and give No matter how valuable you think it is, that’s what the internet’s for. That’s what this time is for now is to give you an opportunity because you’re not in a dead end job you know, you’re at home you can you can give what you’ve got, you let it out, you can test it, test it, put it out there and see what people think you know

Bryn

100% and that you know, what you just said there is absolutely the journey of why real you know, downloads were like this when I first started and feedback was pretty minimal, but every now and again, you get somebody who ring up and go, Wow, that episode was amazing. Or mega, you know? Then say why why what was it? How was it amazing and then Talia Oh, but these two three ideas out and I started thinking about this differently or doing this differently and I was actually doing something

Karl O’Hare

because you never know. You never know what position in life someone else is in. And by just you being you and authentically you just sharing what your knowledge and skill or ability Whatever it is, you know, it can just touch someone just touch someone you know. And this journey I’ve been on recently, you know, in the do the mentoring and everything and there’s been tears, you know, like, yeah, and when you touch someone and you feel that you’ve touched someone that feeling is I think that’s one of the most amazing feelings that humans can have.

Actually.

Bryn

Yeah, it is. It is and and you know what, I’ve been thinking about this car because if you look at the whole of nature, what is it is built on contribution and growth. You look at the whole of the animal kingdom and and the plant kingdom and all its contribution and growth. And if you’re not constituting if you’re not growing, you know, NATO nation discards you. And maybe there maybe there’s a bigger deeper thing in there right now. But yeah, when you when you’re growing, when you’re contributing, and the to gain a Little cycle, you know, you can only grow so far without contributing. And then you hit, you hit a hit ceiling, that’s when you have to teach and share. Well,

Karl O’Hare

you and I here on this to him right on this interview on this chance catch up. And there’s gonna be someone out there watching this right, who’s going to go?

Karl O’Hare

You know what, I need to do that I should do that

Karl O’Hare

I’m going to do that, you know? And that’s that’s beautiful isn’t. That’s amazing and maybe that’s someone who wants to do that thing for 10 years and then you just said something, then they’re gonna go Yeah, that’s why don’t I just do it? Let’s go.

Bryn

You know. That’s it. So one of the questions I’ve been curious about at the moment, and it’s because often in my podcast when I get caught, sort of my regular listeners will know that I’ve got some opening questions and closing questions. So I’ve had to sort of adapt those. And but one of the questions I’m curious to know is, what are you learning about yourself in the middle of this changing environment?

Karl O’Hare

All right, cool. So

Karl O’Hare

I’m learning that

Karl O’Hare

I well what the feeling I’ve noticed is that I get this kind of weird vibrational feeling in my chest right.

Karl O’Hare

And I think i think i think i need to

Karl O’Hare

get out I think I need to get out in nature. I think I allow myself

Karl O’Hare

I think I allow myself one of those people who

Karl O’Hare

I can allow myself to just hang around inside you know, and

Karl O’Hare

unless I’m unless I’m,

Karl O’Hare

I think my normal daily routine would be that I’d go out and I’d be at the beach, I’d be breathing fresh air and I’d be jumping in the water and, and then I’d be at the gym and I’d be exercising, I’d be doing something that’s moving and I’d be outside as well. All of that moving around and I’ve learned that being inside for me, I can do it, but it can To generate this kind of itchy, restless feeling inside of me, so I think I’ve learned that,

Karl O’Hare

but then when I go and walk the dog,

Karl O’Hare

you know, with my wife as they go walk the dog, you know, I’m going to walk the dog, I feel better Calm down, you know, take the basketball, shoot some hoops. So I think I need to be out. I think I need to be out, at least, you know, half an hour, an hour a day, I can make that happen somehow at the moment.

Karl O’Hare

And I’ve learned that I’ve learned that

Karl O’Hare

I’ve actually been able to even just in the last week, I’ve noticed it.

Karl O’Hare

Even just spending more time than I would normally just with my kids outside in the backyard shooting, shooting basketball through some hoops or just talking to my son and bouncing up by today. I was just bouncing the ball up against the garbage with my son. Teach them how to do this, right. It never taught him how to do that unless I did it. And then I just never would never allow Almost half the time to do that in a normal day. Yeah,

Karl O’Hare

if I’m honest, you know, yes, my kids everything put in that way it just doing that. Just

Karl O’Hare

just being there and not think not worrying about having to be somewhere else. I think I’ve learned that about me, I think I’ve learned that I need to put more of that back in because when I got back into business, if I do something, I do it properly, and I dive right in. So you know, last month, we’re working 12 hour days to put together this online course and stuff. And I think and I say that I enjoy it, and I do. But there’s a point I think as a family, man, all you have to say, Enough is enough. You know, your family is also important too. I think this is this week, this last week, since I’ve stopped all that madness has really made me you know, really made me realise that I need to for start time with my kids was how much I’m enjoying working.

Bryn

It’s interesting you say that because so that came up from And under less weight is a reflection that, you know, particularly how many men, how many women are, you know, do this standard nine to five, and you’re out the house, you’re doing the thing. Kids are at school. And you know, there’s always things on. And it’s only really in the holidays. You know, when you actually physically go on a holiday, whether you know, fortnight down to the south of Spain or barley or wherever you’re blessed to be able to go, that you actually spend that quality on top of each other time where you truly get to know each other and it made me realise how, just through I mean, you know, let alone devices and stuff like that, that we can interact with more than we normally would do. But even the routine of modern day life can keep us quiet, separated and separated. And yeah, it’s interesting, you know, brings you back in.

Karl O’Hare

And

Bryn

yeah, I can see. I see a lot of relationships going one way or the other very black or very white.

Yeah, well, usually,

Karl O’Hare

you know, I noticed that we recently in December in January, we took our kids and we went camping on, you know, in a motorhome around the eastern South Australia. And I instantly noticed that that relationship is there, you wake up in the morning, you go for walks, you hold hands, you talk, you observe things, you know. And then as soon as we got back, boom, I just switch straight back into the I’m running a business type thing and you think, ah, I happen without me even noticing. Right. And I think that’s one of the if there is an upside to the corona virus, right. And maybe it’s controversial, saying it’s an upside the corona virus. You know, maybe it’s just stopping the entire human race and make just just spend more time with our kids or with our partners or with us. grandparents or maybe appreciate them more, I just just give more love. Maybe the huge armies meet the awakened bit now maybe just as the planet, maybe there’s just a huge outpouring of love that occurs when something like this happens which just wasn’t there before, you know, and that’s got

Karl O’Hare

some effect on everyone right? Ah, that’s beautiful. I love that.

Bryn

What are some of the things that you said we probably touched on this already but what are some of the things that you are seeing out and about and people’s behaviours that you really hope to

Bryn

dig afterwards?

Karl O’Hare

So I’ll look at an

Karl O’Hare

example yesterday I was just sitting by my car went to pick up some milk and my daughter was in buy milk and I was sitting by my car drinking a coffee and person just you know parked next to me and just happen to do a nice ride mate, you know, and as well thanks so much. It was a woman actually with a with a partner and now We just had a five minute chat about how important human connection is. And you know, love we use words like love and, you know, I’m these people that I didn’t know when we parted they just got in the car, you know, okay, take care, you know, by but there was there was actual wasn’t just the kind of car which would normally be it was like a kind of No, you look after yourself okay, you know, really look after yourself Take care that like a kind of real human to human connection of your two, I’m a human we’re both sharing this common threat and which which were aware of and just change the the conversation between the normal conversation that you’d have between two humans, you know, there was more there was more depth of feeling there.

Karl O’Hare

Yeah, it wasn’t a transactional more depth of feeling

Karl O’Hare

more depth of feeling it was I didn’t know them. They didn’t know me. But there was there was a definite kind of Feeling involved in you look after yourself seriously, because you’re a human. So am I and, you know, I care about you know,

Bryn

loving it, loving it.

Bryn

And what are some of the things that you’re doing to keep yourself

Bryn

sane grounded?

Karl O’Hare

Ah, right is a good one. Right? So go ahead,

share it on your car.

Karl O’Hare

This wasn’t planned, right? It wasn’t planned. See this? Right. This is a VR headset. Yep. It’s the Oculus quest. It’s got no wires on it. And you get these things here right now. I bought this I just saw an ad on Facebook once ago and thought that’s cool. I don’t play games, but I thought that’s cool. I’m getting one you know, I love gadgets and stuff. I’m on one of them. And I hardly use it right? But now I’m locked in the house right? The kids go to bed. And I’m this feeling that I got to be talking about it’s kind of a jittery unsettled feeling. I’m like, what’s going on cuz it can’t go out. So come in here in the pool. cabana put this thing on as soon as he goes to bed early because she’s pregnant. With this thing going on at the moment, right, yesterday, I was flying next to a helicopter in Iceland, doing a rescue off the top of a mountain. And I’m sitting on like the helicopter thing, looking over at them and the guys hanging out the window pulling the winch up looking around and seeing the mountain and Whoa.

Karl O’Hare

And this thing relaxed me it took away that feeling because I was in all of being at the side of a helicopter watching this

Karl O’Hare

guy rescue someone off the top of a mountain, like 1000 foot job and and when I wasn’t doing that, there’s a couple of games on it. So I’ll put this on I mean some literally they’re in like an old Russian factory. And you know, I’m trying to turn on some some nuclear reactor or something to save something. And it’s so real, that it easily wastes time delivered sick when you when you come out of it because it’s very disorientating, because everything’s so real, that you have to go in and not sit down when I finished with it. So I wouldn’t recommend But as experience

Bryn

Wow, you’ve been a busy boy.

Karl O’Hare

Now with our swim in the pool, you know, swim in the pool play with the kids. Yeah, walk the dog. Most people, what do you do? You know, what do you do? I don’t paint. I’m actually looking at a guitar that I bought six is another thing. I was looking at a guitar that I bought six years ago when I when I sold the business and retire and all that stuff. And I thought I thought didn’t wanna do anything. So bought a guitar that will learn guitar. Did I touch it? maybe once or twice and I just sit in a corner, right? And I’ve been looking at the guitar now what it’s like to take my

Karl O’Hare

past it’s like my soul. Yeah, is saying to me, pick up the guitar. Pick up the guitar, right?

Karl O’Hare

I consciously I’m thinking I can’t listen, but active feelings like pick up the guitar pick up a guitar. So I think I’m gonna it probably this week or something would pick up the guitar and get the help that a board put it on the big Telly and Learn a few chords and just just get a feel that’s going to happen either way you feel something’s gonna happen. I guess it’s about to come into your life. I’ve always had that and then it goes, it comes quicker. So

Bryn

I wonder, I wonder how many people have got like the equivalent to your guitar sitting in their house, there’s now going to start talking to them beaming in. This is your creative outlet. This is why we bought this is why you bought me.

Karl O’Hare

Yeah. Now but this, this is why you’re alive. Yeah, right. But you’re remembering. It’s not It’s not like you’re remembering I’m supposed to play music. I’m supposed to get the joy and have the experience of hearing and playing music, the satisfaction that brings I’m not supposed to sit in an office typing into a laptop for eight hours a day doing something that’s not changing the world or not bringing me joy or beauty or love. I think that’s what it is. I think I

Karl O’Hare

think it’s my soul and me go and listen. You should play guitar. Yeah,

Bryn

dude, we didn’t pop you down here to just work all the time.

Karl O’Hare

Right, that’s not what we’re here for. We’re here to shine our lights and get me started on this one brand. But we’re here to shine a light and have the most kick ass experience, use all of our senses use all of our emotions. And that involves playing the guitar, right? But the emotions involved. Yes, I think I’m a mixture of lots of different stuff, mate. But I tell you what’s cool is because I’m kind of still technically running a business throughout the day. Susie has just gone home, she doesn’t see this, but she’s just kind of one responsibility of like, I’m going to be the teacher, the homeschool teacher.

So she’s just

Karl O’Hare

taken on without compensation. She’s just gone while you’re running your businesses and stuff. So, you know, just do that, which I’m kind of happy about really, if I’m honest in a selfish kind of way.

Right.

Hmm.

Karl O’Hare

As a dad,

Bryn

it’s honest,

it’s honest, if not.

Karl O’Hare

I see them fighting. I don’t want to do it.

Karl O’Hare

I think all

Karl O’Hare

thanks, Susie. I’ll leave her. Awesome.

Bryn

And the last question, which is a favourite of mine from all my podcasts

right now,

Bryn

right now, if you could upload a nugget into the collective consciousness, everyone just got it. What would it be? Okay.

Karl O’Hare

Okay, cool. I got it. Right. Hit me. I think

Karl O’Hare

that this coronavirus is a result of all of our one.

Karl O’Hare

collective consciousness. Right? I think that

Karl O’Hare

we’ve all been talking about things need to change. This isn’t working. The system isn’t changing for years and years and years, right. And everyone’s been saying, I wish I could change my job. I wish I could change my life. But I’m stuck in a rut. You know, it’s too hard to change. It’s too much work. There’s too much risk. I think this I think we collectively There you go. I think we collectively have a race of humans together with the planets and everything else have caused this. We have caused this in my opinion,

Karl O’Hare

right? In my opinion,

Karl O’Hare

whether it’s manufactured or whether it’s a weapon or something like that we still caused it we’re still humans right? We still may not right.

Bryn

Well, it’s something to bring this disruption

Karl O’Hare

Yeah, right. We bring it we all brought

Karl O’Hare

it wrong. humans were the one who caused it. We all did, right. But point is, this is the best time possibly in the history of the human race as we know it. Where you can consciously change your life and be who you want to be. So do it because you might not get another chance like this.

Karl O’Hare

Fucking great. I love it. Strong battlefield

Bryn

with you on that.

It’s

Bryn

Yeah, it’s very strong it this is very much time

Bryn

where like, everything is open, all possibilities and probabilities are opening up right in front of us.

Karl O’Hare

You can do anything, do anything you want right now and no one’s going to blame you or look at you or judge you or anything because now is that time. Now is the time. You can do whatever you want. You can be whoever you want from now, you know, and you just say, you know what coronavirus came, I reassess my whole life and have decided I want to do this. I want to be a ballet dancer. I want to be basket weaver. I want to be a deep sea diver. I want to be a juggler in a circus. I don’t care because I could have died and I didn’t. So now I’m going to do this

Bryn

golden, absolute golden

Bryn

cow, thank you so much for your time. It’s been awesome checking in with you and if people want to come and find you Where can they do that? In fact, I’ll, I’ll put a link with this. So they can come and find you. They can find what you’re up to with the business in the box and all of that.

Karl O’Hare

Sure, yeah, you could join me didn’t jump on

Karl O’Hare

every Monday morning at 10am for free, like, right?

Yeah. That’s, you know, it’s the awakened millionaire. It’s not just business.

Karl O’Hare

Yeah, ask me anything. I’ll try and help you

Karl O’Hare

if you know whatever I’ve got. Awesome. Carl, thank you so much for your time. Thanks, bread. Take care mate. Cheers.
